The Nigerian Army, NA, has announced the commencement of online registration for the 88 Regular Recruit Intake (RRI) exercise for Trades/Non-Tradesmen and Women. This recruitment is available to all interested and qualified candidates across Nigeria. The NA has also provided key details about the recruitment exercise to help intending applicants complete the process successfully.
Nigerian Army Recruitment 2024
The Army emphasised that there will be no pre-selection computer-based test. So, after registration on the portal and selection on candidates, shortlisted people will move straight to the screening phase in their respective states. There will also be no special cadre for recruitment. All applicants will go through the same process.
The Army added that the screening exercise will be conducted at each candidate’s state of origin. Candidates are not allowed to bring electronic or recording devices to the screening venues. Such items will be confiscated and not returned.
Nigerian Army Requirements
Interested applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be single and a Nigerian citizen by birth.
- A valid birth certificate from the National Population Commission, hospital, local government council, or an age declaration.
- Must possess a National Identity Card, NIN slip, or BVN.
- Applicants must meet the Nigerian Army’s medical, physical, and psychological fitness standards.
- Must be free of any criminal conviction by a court of law.
- A minimum of four passes, including English Language, in not more than two sittings in WASSCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.
- Tradesmen/women must possess relevant Trade Test and Guild certificates (details on the recruitment portal).
- Non-tradesmen and women: Between 18 and 22 years old as of 31st December 2024.
- Tradesmen and women: Not older than 26 years as of the same date.
- Minimum height: 1.68 metres for males and 1.65 metres for females.
- A valid certificate of state of origin.
- No bodily inscriptions, tattoos, piercings, or membership in cults or fraternities.
How to Apply for Nigerian Army Recruitment
Candidates must visit the official recruitment portal at https://recruitment.army.mil.ng and complete the online application form. When done with the registration, print and complete the Guarantor Form. Candidates are also to bring duly signed copies of the application form and guarantor form to the designated recruitment centres.
Once again, Nigerian Army application is FREE. Multiple applications will result in disqualification. If you make any mistake during the registration, you may not be able to modify your information. This is why it is important for candidates to carefully go through their provided information before submission.
The registration period runs from 30th September to 8th November 2024. There will be screening after the registration phase.
Required Documents for Screening
Applicants are to bring:
- Original copies of educational certificates (primary and secondary).
- Application slip from the online registration.
Candidates are strictly advised not to engage in any form of payment to secure recruitment slot, as the process is entirely free. Any person or agents caught in the act will be disqualified from the process and handed over to the local authority.
Meanwhile, the Army has stated that the names of shortlisted candidates will be published on the recruitment portal. These candidates will proceed to their respective states of origin for screening from 5th to 19th December 2024. Any falsified results discovered during training at Depot Nigerian Army will lead to immediate withdrawal from the programme.
