It is that time of recruitment again. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced its invitation for applications from qualified Nigerians for full-time positions in the Federal Fire Service (FFS). This Fire Service recruitment 2024 is open to applicants from all the states. According to the Board, the aim is to fill existing vacancies across various cadres. Details of the available positions and their qualifications are outlined in the next section.
Federal Fire Service Recruitment 2024
It is going to be a fair and transparent recruitment process as promised by the Board. Candidates are being recruited into two major Categories A and B.
For Category A, we have position for Inspectorate Cadre, which is Inspector of Fire (IF), CONPASS 07. The applicants must be Registered Nurses (RN), Registered Midwives (RM), or Registered Nurses/Midwives (RNIM) from recognised institutions. We also have positions for Assistant Inspector of Fire (AIF), CONPASS 06, which requires holders of a National Certificate in Education (NCE) or National Diploma (ND) in relevant fields from recognised polytechnics or institutions.
The second, Category B, Assistant Cadre, has open vacancies for Fire Assistant II (FA II), CONPASS 04. Interested candidates must hold GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent qualifications with a maximum of five credits, including English and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Category B also includes Fire Assistant III (FA III), Appliance Driver (Specialist), CONPASS 03, which requires GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent qualifications with a minimum of five credits, including English and Mathematics. Possession of a Class E Driver’s Licence is an added advantage.
Federal Fire Service Recruitment Requirements
- Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Candidates must present all relevant certificates at the recruitment centre; certificates not presented will not be accepted later.
- Age requirements are between 18 and 35 years.
- Applicants must be of good character and free from any criminal record.
- Candidates must be physically and mentally fit, supported by medical fitness certificates from government-recognised hospitals.
- Membership in secret societies, cults, or involvement in drug abuse or financial misconduct will disqualify candidates.
- Male applicants must have a minimum height of 1.65m, and females 1.60m. Male candidates’ chest measurements should not be less than 0.87m.
- Computer literacy will be considered an advantage.
How to Apply for Federal Fire Service Recruitment
All applications are to be submitted online via the designated portal: https://cdcfib.career. The application portal will open from 27th December 2024. Applicants must complete and submit the online application form within six weeks of publication and print out the referee forms, which must be duly completed and submitted during the screening exercise.
Applicants are reminded that multiple applications will result in automatic disqualification. Recruitment into the Federal Fire Service is entirely FREE, and no payment is required at any stage.
Only shortlisted candidates will be sent invitation letters that contains information about where they are to visit for physical screening, certificate verification and aptitude test. Such successful candidates will be contacted through the phone numbers and email addresses they submitted during the Fire Service registration process.
