9,459 Set for Kwara Teachers’ Recruitment Test

The Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has announced that 9,459 applicants will receive text messages on Monday, February 17, 2025, inviting them to take part in a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This is the next stage in the ongoing teachers’ recruitment process.

TESCOM Chairman Mallam Bello Taoheed said the shortlisted candidates met the requirements, such as having relevant degrees like B.Ed., B.Sc. Ed., or B.A. Ed., or a degree in a related subject with an education qualification. He explained that out of 26,349 people who started the application, only 11,617 completed the process. From these, 9,459 were selected after the system filtered out those without the right qualifications or who were over the age limit.

He also stated that 87.95% (8,319) of the shortlisted candidates are from Kwara State, while the remaining 12.05% (1,140) are from other states. Among the candidates, 45.80% (4,332) applied to teach STEM subjects. There are also 40 persons with disabilities (PLWD) among those invited, and 31 of them are Kwarans. Special care will be given to these individuals during the test.

The CBT will take place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at various centres across Kwara State. Applicants are required to visit the recruitment portal to select a convenient centre. They must print their examination slip from the portal and bring it to their chosen venue.

The test begins at 8:30 a.m., and candidates are advised to arrive at least one hour early. TESCOM also urged applicants to behave properly before, during, and after the test, as their conduct is part of the assessment for the teaching job.
